AREQUIPA TOURS

COLCA CANYON - 2 DAYS / 1 NIGHT


Pick up- time: from 07:20 am to 08:30 am.

DAY 01: You’ll be going to Colca Canyon at 8:30 am, we'll pass through Yura-Pampa Cañahuas-Sumbay-Vizcachani-Pampa de Tocra-Chukura-Patapampa (this last one is the highest point of the whole trip about 4800 m.a.s.l.) heading into Chivay, you’ll arrive at 13:30 or 14:00 in order to have lunch there. After that, we take you to your chosen accommodation.
In the afternoon you’ll be going to the Hot Springs La Calera (Optional activity). Finally you return to have dinner and time for bed.

DAY 02: Early in the morning (around 5:30) you’ll have breakfast at the hotel, after that you visit La Cruz del Cóndor, where you have an amazing view of the canyon and the condor flight. Then you’ll go to some traditional and picturesque small towns that surround the Valley as Maca, Yanque, etc.
Then you get back to Chivay to have lunch there. Right after that, you’ll be going back to Arequipa or going to Puno, whichever it was your decision before traveling.

What you need to bring/carry:
A backpack with a change of clothes for the whole period of the tour. Recommended: shirts, jeans or comfortable pants and some warm clothes: warm jacket.
Rain jacket or poncho (Only from December till March).
Comfortable footwear.
Water bottle
Hat or cap to protect you from the sun.
Sun block (sun protection cream).
Insect repellent.
Toilet paper.
Selection of small snacks, chocolate, etc.
Camera, plenty of film and spare batteries.
Swimsuit (if you plan on visiting the hot springs - entrance not included in price).
You also need to bring your original passport on the tour or any other ID.
You need to bring some extra money (We think you should bring around $120.00 that’s including the extra payments we say we don’t include on the tour like Entrance to Colca BTC and La Calera Hot Springs+ Lunch, etc).


COLCA CANYON COSÑIRHUA

TREKKING 3 DAYS/ 2 NIGHTS


PICK UP –TIME: from 03:00 to 03:30 am from your hotel.
FIRST DAY:
You will be picked up from your hotel with a private bus from 03:00 to 03:30 a.m, so you must be ready at 3 am. please. After three hours of driving we make a short stop in CHIVAY. Then we will continue until we reach the viewing point "CRUZ DEL CONDOR". We will stop here for about one hour to see the CONDORS fly and to enjoy the beautiful view over the canyon. Afterwards we will go to CABANACONDE, at 3287 m.a.s.l. then we prepare ourselves for the trekking. First we will pass by the viewing point named PAMPA SAN MIGUEL, from where we can see the paths over which we got to walk.
From here we start descending into the canyon in the direction of the village SAN JUAN DE CHUCCHU where we’ll have lunch. This takes four hours approximately. On the way we will cross COLCA RIVER via a hanging bridge. During the trek the guide will tell you about the flora and fauna, medicinal plants and culture of the people living in the canyon. IN SAN JUAN DE CHUCCHU the guide cooks your dinner. You will spend the night in there with a local family house-lodging and be able to see their daily life.

SECOND DAY:
We wake up at 5:30 am to have breakfast, so we can get ready to start the trek to Cosñirhua and right after we will pass through MALATA, a small village. After two hours of walking we arrive in SANGALLE, better known as the OASIS. In the OASIS you can relax and take a swim in the swimming pool.
We’ll spend the night there in the bungalows.

THIRD DAY:
In the morning around 05:00 am, you wake up to continue walking for 3 hours more, once you get to Cabanaconde you will have breakfast. Afterwards you will visit a viewing point named ACHACHIHUA. This is a 25 minutes walk. From here you will have a beautiful view over another part of the canyon. On the way we will make a stop to see Inca and pre-Inca agricultural terraces from the viewing point WAYRAPUNKU. In CHIVAY you have the option of visiting the hot springs for one hour. The medicinal water has a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius. Afterward you are able to lunch in CHIVAY before returning to AREQUIPA. We will arrive in AREQUIPA at 5:30 p.m. approximately.

AREQUIPA AND PUNO

3 DAYS /2 NIGHTS


1st DAY: AREQUIPA/ CITY TOUR ( 3 HOURS)

This is an interesting and amazing tour of Arequipa City. When being at the downtown, you’ll head off to the famous and ancient Monastery of Santa Catalina which was built in the XVI century.
Right after that, you’ll see the Cathedral, Arequipa’s Main Square and the Compañía de Jesús church and its cloisters, as well as the Copula de los Claustros de la compañía.

2nd DAY: COLCA CANYON FULL DAY

We begin our tour with the picking of our passengers from their hotels from 2 am to 2:30 am, heading to the town of Chivay, we’ll arrive at 5:00 am. approximately, then we have Continental breakfast. Following the trip, we go to the viewpoint of Cruz del Condor where we will stay about an hour to see the flight of the condor and the depth of the canyon. Then we'll return and stop by several viewpoints (Choquetico, Antahuilque and some tombs ), arriving to Chivay, we'll  go to  the hot springs of La Calera, after that, we’ll have lunch, in our way back to Arequipa, we’ll stop by at the Mirador de los Andes, where everyone can see the mountains, snowcapped and Andes Range Mountain, you’ll get to see different types of animals like vicuñas, vizcachas, migratory birds.

Note: if you want to catch the bus that takes you directly to Puno its departure is: 13:15 that you must be there because it’s leaving at 13:30. This bus makes some stops like In Mirador de Volcanes Patapampa, then in Pampa Cañahuas for a coca tea in a Restaurant called El Chino, then at 5pm there's one stop in Lagunillas and you finally arrive to Puno at its terminal terrestre at 19:30. Av. 1 de mayo 700. This bus ticket is included in the tour.

3RD DAY: UROS AND TAQUILE
FULL DAY TOUR– TAQUILE ISLAND + UROS (CLASSIC TOUR)

This excursion begins at 6:30am with transfer from your hotel to the port. Then by motor boat (35 feet long with a covered section in case of rain or cold weather) we visit the Uros floating Islands. Stepping on them feels very much like a water bed (but it is quite safe). We see the houses, the islands and meet its friendly inhabitants .Uros people are descendents of one of the oldest South American groups. Rides on traditional reed boats can be arranged. We visit two of the 30 islands before continuing on to Taquile Island. After a relaxed navigation of 2 1/2 hours when we get the chance to enjoy the spectacular views offered by Lake Titicaca, we get to this unique place. There a unique community can be observed, they conserve Incan laws and social system. A long path gradually ascending will take us to the village, the views are unique and worth’s. (45 min. hike aprox.) To visit the communal cooperative. Lunch at one of the local restaurants. The views are magnificent. Then we descent 500 steps down to the port. at 2:30pm approx. return to Puno (a 3 hour return journey). On arrival at Puno we transfer you to your hotel.

GOURMET EXPERIENCE:

TOUR IN SAN CAMILO AREQUIPA’S OLD AND TRADITIONAL MARKET WITH A PERUVIAN CUISINE CLASS IN AREQUIPA

We pick you up from your accommodation, then we walk to Market San Camilo which is just  5 min walking from the main square, where the guide talk about the different types of tubers we have in Peru and also an explanation of medicinal plants that are sold there.  Once you finish the tour in the market you walk to the restaurant where the cooking class takes place and we need to point out that it’s given by a professional chef in a well equipped kitchen and nice restaurant located in one of the most traditional neighborhoods of the White City.
Goal: To promote the typcal food of Arequipa and the whole Peruvian cuisine ranked among one of the richest WORLDWIDE.
 
You’ll learn how to prepare:
First option:
Starter: Causa (mashed potatoes) stuffed  with chicken.
Main course: Lomo saltado  de alpaca .
