ARCHEOLOGICAL TOUR NAZCA
This archeological tour brings you to the city of Nazca, about a 2 hours drive from Ica. During this tour you will visit the aqueducts which consist of 40 subterranean channels which were used by the Nazca civilization to get water. You will be amazed about the high development in hydraulic engineering.

You will visit the Paredones which is an interesting archeological complex which flourished during the Inca period. The complex has been made with adobe and the purpose of the complex was that of an administrative center.

This special archeological tour will show you the gold and ceramics process which is an important economic source of income of this region. The ceramics are still made in the same way as the Nazca civilization used to make it. It is an interesting mixture of the past and the present.

CHAUCHILLA
Chauchilla is a very special and interesting archeological site. It is a cemetery where you will see mummies from the Nazca period which are very well preserved due to the climatic conditions of this region. During the tour you will get an explanation of their beliefs and customs and why they mummified the dead bodies. This site is like an open air museum where you see still some open tombs with the remains of the ancient inhabitants of the region.

CAHUACHI TOUR AND TAMBO COLORADO TOUR

CAHUACHI TOUR
Cahuachi is one of the largest complexes of pyramids and squares constructed during the prehispanic period. They are still excavating the site discovering more pyramids. Each building has its function like that of housing, workshops and ceremonial areas. The most important function of Cahuachi is its ceremonial function through which the elite organized social and economic life of the Nazca culture. A very interesting tour with lots of history and lots of things that still has to be discovered.

TAMBO COLORADO
Probably the best preserved archeological Inca complex of the coastal area is Tambo Colorado which was built during the period of the Inca Pachacutec. During this tour you will see still some walls with red painting. The complex served as an administrative center and as a place to rest from long journeys. The site is completely built in adobe. You will visit 4 groups of buildings of which the most important one is the Inca Palace.

BALLESTAS ISLANDS AND PARACAS NATIONAL RESERVE TOUR

BALLESTAS ISLANDS
This tour is a must for people who love fauna. By speedboat you will go to these special islands. On the way to the islands you will see the Candelabro figure. The Ballestas Islands are home to large quantities of sea lions and a variety of bird species like Pelicans, Boobies and Cormorants. It is also possible to observe Humboldt Penguins and with a bit of luck dolphins. The Ballestas Islands and the Paracas Reserve area played an important role in the economy of Peru in the mid-nineteenth century when vast quantities of “guano” (droppings of birds) were exported to Europe for use as fertilizer.

PARACAS NATIONAL RESERVE
The Paracas National Reserve is a beautiful place for nature lovers, in particular if you like to see birds. The Reserve was established in 1975 and is very important for the protection of bird and marine wildlife. The Reserve has an extension of 827,803.03 acres which includes deserts, beaches, islands and of course the ocean. You can observe flamingos, pelicans, penguins, sea lions and dolphins in this national reserve.

FLIGHTS TO NAZCA LINES AND PARACAS FIGURES

FLIGHT NAZCA LINES
The classic flight in which you get to see the Nazca Lines which are giant figures in the middle of the desert which represent fishes, spiders, geometric figures etc. and can be best observed from the air. There are various theories which explain the origin of these lines. One of them is that these lines are landing sites for aliens. Other people think this is a huge astronomic calendar and another theory is that these are spiritual figures which were worshipped.

The flight to the Nazca Lines can be done from Paracas, Ica and Nazca itself. The duration and price depends on the city you want to initiate the flight. 

FLIGHT PARACAS FIGURES
We are proud to be able to offer you this unique flight as the only tour operator. This special flight takes one hour and leaves from Paracas. From the Pisco airport you will take off and will first see the Paracas bay with all new hotels. We then arrive at the Candelabro figure which until today remains a mystery who made this huge figure. There are various theories on who made this figure which we like to explain you during your tour.
We then will see the Paracas figures. It is the only group of figures in the desert where this culture flourished. The figures represent birds, a monkey, anthropomorphic figures and human faces with “felínicos” features, the oldest figure which can be linked to the presence of the Chavin culture in this region.

We then will see a beautiful lagoon called Moron during the flight which is located in the Pisco desert in the Humay district. The lagoon is home to a variety of birds like flamingos..
The last attraction during this flight is the ruin of Tambo Colorado. This archeological complex is the best preserved Inca complex in the coastal area of Peru. It was built during the time of the Inca Pachacutec and served as an administrative center, housing for local authorities and soldiers as well as a place to recover energy after a long journey.  

ALTERNATIVE FOR THE NAZCA LINES FLIGHT
This tour is the perfect alternative to see some of the Nazca Lines and to have some knowledge of the Nazca culture if you are afraid to fly. During this tour we visit various places of interest starting with the Reloj Solar or Sun Dial. We then continue to the viewpoint of Palpa and Nazca from which you can observe the Royal Family; a Paracas figure, the figure called Hands which was discovered by Maria Reiche in 1946 and the Tree; both Nazca Lines.

In the Maria Reiche Museum you can see the various instruments she used for the measurement of the Nazca Lines. Maria Reiche Newman was born in Dresden in Germany and dedicated most of her life studying, preserving and making measurements of the Nazca Lines. Besides the instruments you will see archeological pieces of the Nazca culture and her grave.
We will then visit the aqueducts which consist of many subterranean channels used by the Nazcas to get water. The aqueducts prove the high development in hydraulic engineering of the Nazcas. People in the region are still using these aqueducts today.

You will continue the tour to the “Paredones”. This is an archeological complex which flourished during the Inca period. It is built with adobe and served as an administrative center to control trade between the coastal area and the Andes area. You will see a big main square, depots and a ceremonial area.
You will visit the “Telar de Cantalloc” which is a figure representing a loom. You will see spirals and zigzag lines that appear to be textile work in manufacturing process. Because of their shape these lines are also called “The Needles” or “Tangles”. The majority of these lines are oriented from southeast to northeast and are distributed along the elongated shape of the ravine.
You will end the tour with the gold and ceramics process, an important economic source of income for this region. You will be able to see the process of the extraction of gold and other minerals which can be found in this region. You will see as well how the Nazca civilization made ceramics.
DUNE BUGGY TOUR, FOSSILS TOUR IN THE OCUCAJE DESERT, TOUR TO THE “VIRGIN” BEACHES OF ICA, TOUR BY QUADS AND CAMPING IN THE ICA DESERT (2 days and 1 night tour)

DUNE BUGGY TOUR
This classic adventure tour in Ica shows you the dunes of the Ica desert by so called dune buggies. These buggies go at high speed up the dunes for the necessary adrenaline. During the tour you can practice some sand boarding. This tour is especially very nice at the end of the day so that you can enjoy the beautiful sunset in the desert.

FOSSILS TOUR IN THE OCUCAJE DESERT
You will leave from the Huacachina Lagoon by 4WD to the Ocucaje desert. Ocucaje is a district located 25 kilometers from Ica where the largest fossils deposit of South America can be found. During the tour you will observe fossils of prehistoric, marine animals between 8 and 20 million years old. You can also practice some sand boarding during the tour. You will return to Huacachina after this amazing tour.

TOUR TO THE “VIRGIN” BEACHES OF ICA
About 70 kilometers to the west of Ica there are some amazing beaches which you will visit with us. These beaches are very special due to the fact that they are only accessible by 4WD vehicles. You will cross the desert by 4WD till we reach the beach where you will visit a viewpoint where you can observe sea lions and a huge cave. You will explore the coast and have the opportunity to swim and enjoy the sun. We will prepare a nice lunch for you and some cocktails on the beach and we bring a fisherman with us who will learn you the traditional way of fishing. You will return to Huacachina to see the sunset to make this special tour complete.

TOUR BY QUADS
After an explanation and some practice you will visit the countryside of Ica by quad. 
During this tour you will visit the mysterious town of Cachiche and the San Pedro lagoon where you have some amazing viewpoints. It is a very remote and exclusive place to be where you can enjoy the landscape in complete tranquility. Near the lagoon there are some small dunes for the experienced quad drivers to practice. This is a very nice way of discovering the region of Ica.

CAMPING IN THE ICA DESERT (2 days and 1 night tour)
This is a special tour combining the beautiful beaches of Ica and the fossils in the Ocucaje desert. At night we will make a camp fire to eat and set up camp to sleep in the desert. A very special experience and a good way of enjoying the stars since the skies are cloudless. The next day you will return to Huacachina.
